Building a safer future one child at a time.

September flew by so quickly. It feels like so many events happened. We are always happy and delighted to share our monthly wins with you to keep you updated. As you read them all we hope you will continue to pray for our team and those that God places within our path each month.

SEPTEMBER MONTHLY WINS:

  • Club Kinabuhi gatherings continued and it has been a blessing to be able to meet with the children after school to start our eight-part protection education booklet. We were also able to help provide each student by purchasing their school supplies like school uniforms, notebooks, paper, and pens.

  • This month we had the opportunity to meet with the principal at a local public high school to introduce who we are and what we do. We also talked about the lessons that we teach to children and how we offer free child safety training to teachers, parents, and childcare workers. Through this meeting, we were offered to teach our eight-part protection education booklet during the values education class. As well as, offering multiple trainings next month for Children’s month for their high school teachers.

  • After meeting over 40 children once a week for 10 weeks at a certain Baranggay, we have finally completed the eight protection education lessons for these children. We are so happy and excited because these children were the pilot batch for our eight-lesson curriculum. We learned so many things and we got good feedback from the parents. The children are now able to recognize safe adults in their lives, what touches are safe and unsafe for them, and what to do when they feel like their boundaries are violated.

  • We made a follow-up training to a couple of volunteers for a remote Island we ministered to last year and we are so excited because they will use our curriculum in their children’s program. We are also given the opportunity to partner with a local church to do a feeding program on the Island. At the end of the day, there were 75 full and happy stomachs. The children enjoyed hours of fun and games while we ministered to their parents.

  • This month 20 mothers joined our awareness training about the rights of a child, and how we can protect them as children through love, care, and support. One mother said “Thank you for teaching our children. I can see the changes in my child. Before you came, she did not like wearing pants and underwear but now she understands the importance of protecting her private parts. I am glad now she knows how to protect her body and what a good and bad secret is.”

  • This month our Filipino staff joined a leadership training. One of the highlights was the importance of having a Christ-like character in working with the community and reaching out to the lost. It was a wonderfull refreshing time for the team to be connected with other workers and with God as our one source of hope and strength.
