May Monthly Update
Before anything else, we just want to say thank you for your continued support and prayer for Redeeming Zoe. As we celebrate this month’s wins, we realize we couldn’t have gone this far without you taking part so we thank you!
This month was full of exciting opportunities for us here in the Philippines. The frenetic presidential elections that happened this month did not stop us from our goal to train and spread awareness.
THIS MONTH HELP US CELEBRATE:
• Completing our 8-part lesson booklet “My body belongs to me.” We are grateful to Nerissa for pouring her heart out for this project.
• Sharing and training the RZ Booklet to teachers and children workers from Happy Horizons Children’s Ranch online in partnership with OneChild. Almost 50 adults joined the training online but they are only representatives from their centers, meaning 1,600 children will be reached and taught about body safety. They were also taught how to handle disclosures when someone reports incidents of abuse.
• Sharing and training the RZ Booklet to children workers from 818 Ministries and this time, face to face! How exciting. They have about 50 children under their care and we are so happy they will use our booklet so children all get to learn how they can take care of their bodies.
• Bible sharing and food pack distribution with our Club Kinabuhi Families. Almost perfect attendance except for two families who lost a loved one.
• Government Fire Safety permit renewal was approved. After days of application and waiting, we are finally approved and just waiting for our certificate to be released. Hooray!
WHAT’S TO COME:
• More booklet training
• Trauma-Informed training for a partner organization
• Church partnerships for children advocacy
• Monthly Club Kinabuhi family gatherings and food pack distribution continue
PRAYER REQUESTS:
• Please pray for two of our CK families who lost a loved one. They need God’s comfort and provision as they navigate through this difficult time.
• Please pray we find an additional staff soon for RZ Philippines.
• Pray for provision for Hillary and Becca’s visit to the Philippines.
• Pray that God will open doors for more partnerships with local government and like-minded organizations here in the Philippines.
