Summer’s Heating Up

March has officially welcomed the summer season here in Cebu, Philippines. And with that comes exciting summer activities for the community we serve. Some wins we want to share are:

MARCH WINS:

  • In March, we had the kids training at the Mactan Cathedral Of Faith Center. Our team educated 64 children about caring for their bodies through nutrition and proper hygiene. All the children ages 9-12 participated in the training session. The kids were excited to receive and utilize their hygiene kits, promoting cleanliness and health awareness. It was a fun day for everyone.

  • The CK family food pack support and gathering continue. Our spiritual topic for this month is about the gift of salvation. The mothers engaged in meaningful conversations about life. Our bi-monthly gathering provides a safe space for CK mothers to come together, share their thoughts, and strengthen their faith in God.

  • Praise God for collaboration. A total of 63 children participated in the community outreach we did on an island in Cebu in collaboration with the local church group called Navigators. The kids enjoyed our fun training activities about child protective behaviors. We also educated 30 parents on this delicate yet necessary topic about human trafficking and online sexual abuse and exploitation happening in our society today. After the event, participants expressed their gratitude for the training and meal provided by the RZ team, highlighting our efforts to protect the next generation.

  • Our partner organization from Luzon has officially started using our curriculum in their area in Baguio City. For the first time, our curriculum is used in Luzon and we can’t be more excited to expand our reach and share our resources with more children in those communities.

WHAT’S TO COME:

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Pray for a successful community outreach next month

  • Pray for protection among our kids as some schools are being suspended due to rising heat index in Cebu, Philippines

  • Pray for our plan to expand our reach in Mindanao and Luzon Islands
