National Children’s Month

Can you believe it is less than a month before 2022 ends? But before we get excited with Christmas festivities let me tell you about the exciting things that happened for Redeeming Zoe last November. Here in the Philippines, November is the month we celebrate National Children’s Month. As a child advocacy organization, what better way to celebrate this month than to do awareness trainings about child safety and human trafficking to advocate for our children. Help us celebrate our wins!

NOVEMBER MONTHLY WINS:

  • Online training for two lead staff of the Assemblies of God church about child protection policies and our lesson booklet for children called, “I can be strong, smart and safe”. And what is amazing is that even though we only trained two, they will then use our curriculum to train over 100 churches in their church conference next year. What a victory and we can’t wait for that to come into place.

  • Feeding program at a public elementary school in partnership with the local police W.C.P.C. (women and children protection center). 100 children were fed, and given toys and hygiene kits. We were also able to educate the 100 children with our curriculum booklet on how they can protect themselves against abuse. How amazing!!!

  • Training 61 high school teachers in a local public school about anti-human trafficking and internet safety for their students. It was fun and very inspiring to see teachers advocate for their students.

  • We held a trainings for parents for a local church partner. Although the majority who came were moms, we are proud to say that dads are slowly getting involved too and a few came as a couple. We totaled over 350 parents who joined the trainings, and over 20 church staff and volunteers joined too. We talked about human trafficking and the new Philippine law about anti-OSAEC, Online Sexual Abuse and Exploitation of Children. We also added a topic about stress and how parents can manage it. What a successful awareness campaign it has been and we are so grateful for your prayers and support.

  • Photos for Freedom was a huge success. Despite the unpredictable weather and change of venue, many individuals came and participated and we couldn’t be any happier about that.

WHAT’S TO COME:

  • Christmas Celebration for our Club Kinabuhi Families

  • Christmas Celebration for our new children’s community outreach

  • Celebrate and honor our volunteers for their hard work and help throughout the year

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Please continue to pray for more opportunities for RZ Cebu to partner and participate with like-minded organizations

  • Pray for safety and good weather this December for all of our RZ team and families because last year Cebu experienced a super typhoon and no one was able to celebrate Christmas.
