From Awareness to Action

October was a busy yet steady month for us. Busy because we conducted awareness trainings, Club Kinabuhi activities, and prepared for the upcoming visit of our Co-Founders. Yet, steady because the goal and purpose remain steadfast. Our goal is set clear. We are grateful to God for allowing us to have ample opportunities while maintaining consistency in all that we do. Please help us celebrate our win as we embark on the first month of the last quarter of 2023.

OCTOBER MONTHLY WINS:

  • Our month started with online training for an organization in Baguio City, located in the northern part of Luzon Philippines. Their name is Pag-asa para sa kabataan project which is translated as “Hope for the Children Project”. 10 leaders from their organization and partner churches joined so they could share and use the RZ curriculum booklet on child safety for their kid’s program.

  • We had the privilege to educate 65 mothers about the rights of a child and how to keep their children safe from the dangers of OSAEC (online sexual abuse and exploitation of children) which is rampant in the Philippines. We asked and only two mothers heard vaguely about the dangers of OSAEC. It’s sad to know only a couple of mothers knew about it and we feel like we still have a long way to go, but we could also proudly say that because of your help and support, we have gone so far in educating the community and protecting the next generation.

  • Before the month ended we were able to do an Internet Safety training for teens at a local church in the City. About 20 teenage boys and girls, and 2 adult staff attended the training campaign. It was a wonderful time and we all had a healthy discussion on how they can keep safe while browsing and clicking online.

  • We cannot miss Club Kinabuhi and food pack distribution because we just love seeing our CK families. This month’s focus is on self-care. We are teaching our CK parents to take care of themselves while also taking care of their family. We are so glad that they are slowly learning that a holistically healthy parent is the key to a healthy and safe child.

WHAT’S TO COME:

  • Child Protection training for partner organizations

  • Continue outreach programs

PRAYER REQUESTS:

  • Please pray that we will have more training opportunities for the upcoming National Children’s Month in the Philippines

  • Please pray that the children and families who have gone through our training will continue to use what they have learned and will share it with others too

  • Please pray for partnership and training opportunities in the southern part of the Philippines like Mindanao

  • Please pray for the upcoming visit of our Co-Founders
